Peter J. Frasso, Jr. Music Scholarship Recipients

Maya is currently a rising senior honors student at Emmanuel College, double-majoring in Neuroscience and Theater Arts. Over the past few years, she has been fortunate enough to dive deeply into both of her passions. In the lab, she has gained hands-on experience in techniques ranging from immunohistochemistry and cell culture to electrophysiology modeling. This coming academic year, she will complete a full-year internship with the Boston Public Health Commission at the Center for Behavioral Health and Wellness.

On the theater side, she has had wonderful opportunities to perform, including earning the Second Alternate award for the Irene Ryan Acting Scholarship at the ACTF Region 1 Festival for her role as Driver/Claire in Theatre Macabre: Dreamscape, a partly original piece written by Emmanuel faculty, students, and alumni. This fall, she looks forward to making her directorial debut with a collegiate production of Improbable Fiction by Alan Ayckbourn as her senior capstone project.

Outside of classes and rehearsals, she also serves as Treasurer of the campus Photography Club. She is incredibly grateful for the support of this scholarship throughout her time at Emmanuel, which has allowed her to thrive both academically and creatively as she prepares for her final year.
